24 April 2018 | Italië, Lecce
Today was my second day at INFN Lecce. Today we didn't do any special activities like listening to a preparation of a masters student. Today focused on continuing the learning process we started yesterday. We started today with the introduction of a new electronic device that will be used also for the real experiments that we will do. The new device provides us with more data and therefore will be more useful for the experiment. This obviously also makes the device more complicated to handle and thus required new learning.
Looking at the last two days in general I can say that, even though the INFN does work a lot with international partners, at this specific location, which is one of the smaller ones, I have yet to find an international employee. This means that a l communication is done in Italian and only the scientific articles found in the building are written in English. All people I have spoken to however are decently fluent in English for good communication.
Tomorrow is the Italian liberation day, so the next update will be on Thursday,
Greetings,
Jorn
